Now, Now Every Children – But I Do Lyrics 10 years ago
"We can keep in touch if that's what you want,
you can call me too if that's what friends do."
They both had something going on but instead of just dropping everything they both feel they have the need to hold on
"It's not more than one, if that's what you thought."
She dosent really have a relationship like this one with anyone els, even though it appears that he has accused her of having it with several others.
"You'd say I don't have the room for you,
But I do."
Because of this acusation, he will continue to say that she doesn't "have the room" for him in her life.
She does however argue back and states that she does, "but I do". "I do" in popular culture can sumtimes refer to accepting a marrige preposal. She probably uses the seriousness of the tone attributed to those words to solidify her eomotions better.

"I could stay inside if that's what you want"
She is angry with him because of his covert abbuse, or making her feel guilty beacuse of his own insecurities. She will stay inside the house bloking out the world and brew in her anger.
"I won't say a word for a day or two."
She will stay home and not say a word, probably even refuse to see him.
"When I'm in my room I know what to do about you.
I can sleep
Soon"
When she is in her room she feels she can forget about everything if she sleeps, she therefor knows "what to do about" him.

"When I get home I am kept from every room in the house"
Every room reminds her of him, Im guessing good and bad.
"I'll walk down the hall where you have gone
to feel the way it felt again"
She walks down the hall probably to the room where he is but wont go in, just standing outside helps her feel closer to him and maybe fills her with a sense of melancholy, reminiscing of old time when everything felt right.

"I am what you need when you can't find it somewhere else."
This part can be interpreted in many ways, basic ideology I would guess he only uses her for sex, but he could probably also use her as someone he can go to when he needs to talk about stuff, this also tise back to why he would "keep in touch" as refered to in the first line.
"I am what you want when you don't want anything else"
He doesn't really know what he wants so for know he hangs around, she herself feels confined with this entire relationship for whats is worth if it even still is something.
This entire song has an undertone of missing substance: it dosent question whether or not their relation is adequate for both of them, it instead makes it obvious of the lack there of.
The last four lines are her eventual conclusions drawn from everything she mentions in the lyrics.

Staind – Pardon Me Lyrics 11 years ago
I experience this song differently in different scenarios of my life.

I'm in the middle of a breakup where he hurt me, I thought I'd try and hang on for a while and see if things get better, he promised he wouldn't do it again... Things got better... But when it got serious I realised I lost my feelings, and I just couldn't find the strength to trust him again "Can't listen To the things You say"... whether or not he did it again I'm will never know... My point is, I stayed with him "faking" and hoping things will go back to how they were. "I'm two steps" from where I will be after the breakup, and being "redeemed". But its hard to leave cause I love him, so for now Im only "taking one"...
