Johnny bought a gun for his gay lovers birthday to kill him. Johnny tells the man to close his eyes so he can shoot him, but the man keeps his eyes open and sees that Johnny has tears in his eyes and doesn't want to shot him, but must. Johnny shots him and continues with his life as though nothing happened and marries a woman to try and live a normal life. I think the end of the lyrics is the soul of the killed lover saying no matter what, I will always love you and I would have done anything to keep us together. Very emotional and a tragic story, but excellent song. One of my favorites.

This song is so beautiful. It sits strong with me and is Electronic's second best song. Some Distant Memory is their top song. The ending of that song puts me in a place I never want to leave. |
