Yo La Tengo – Center of Gravity Lyrics 8 years ago
I love this song. I remember the first time I heard the album, this bossa nova number really stood out to me, and actually got me interested in listening to old bossa nova music. The lyrics are sweet and simple, about the elation of being in love.

Belinda Carlisle – Circle In The Sand Lyrics 8 years ago
I've always thought the lyrics were kind of throwaway pop love song pablum, but I love the way Belinda sings this one, especially when her throat gets growly towards the end.

The Motels – Only the Lonely Lyrics 8 years ago
@[stevenaqc:20754] That's so sad. I'm really sorry about Leslie. And now terrified of mosquitoes.

Is it a typo that you wrote 1992, since the song came out in 1982?

Julian Cope – Pristeen Lyrics 8 years ago
This is from Cope's album Peggy Suicide album, which is about the environmental destruction of the earth. So this song is an allegory, where "Pristeen" represents both a coy young female lover, and Earth.

I have always loved the line, "How much does it take to go down on someone...that you hate?" Vicious. One of Cope's best songs (and he has many great songs), in my opinion.

Leonard Cohen – Anthem Lyrics 8 years ago
@[qsilentq:19396] Yes, he definitely wrote it himself. I don't know who those other people are. I have the liner notes to The Future and no collaborators are listed in the credits for that song.
