Personally for me, the first time I heard this song and its lyrics, I instantly connected it to Katniss's situation with Peeta in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. If you listen to the lyrics, she is saying that she misses him and needs him back (whether physically or mentally), how she is struggling on her own without him (PTSD), and how much that he has hurt her (because of the Capitol's "hijacking"). PLEASE TELL ME THAT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE ONE OF THE MAIN CONFLICTS IN MOCKINGJAY...BECAUSE IT DOES!!! |

I understand the general meaning of the lyrics of this song, but the only thing I don't get is: What is the title, "The Walk" supposed to mean?? Is the speaker of the song trying to communicate to this person about her emotions while taking a walk with him? Or is it emphasizing for her "lover" to "take a walk" down his own journey into life without her as she is implying the same about herself? Or both? |
