The theme of this song is vengeance. The main character wants the one who buried him alive to feel the same as he did. "Never saw me,I am but a ghost Never saw your dangerous host " The main character is already dead, but he came back as a ghost to revenge. Never saw me refers to the line "The poison I slipped in your drink" which tells that the victim did not understand what happened to him when he was poisoned and wakes up in an open grave. "Wake up...You're still alive...Wake up and die" The main character wants his victim to be conscious and realise what will happen to him. "All you can see in the darkness above Is the white in my eyes... I'm standing on the edge of your grave Looking down Into the eyes of a dead... Buried alive...Buried alive " The victim is laying on his grave and is seeing white dead eyes of his capturer. In the same time capturer sees the victim's soon to be dead eyes underneath him in the grave. When main character died the roles were opposite. He could see the victim shoveling sand to the grave. "How does it feel with my foot on your chest? How does it feel? Tell me and I might forget How does it feel to be so out of breath? How does it feel? Tell me and I might forget... " The main character wants his victim to feel being buried alive. By making him go out of breath and feel pressure on his chest. Main character has already decided to kill him, but still tries to make the victim speak about his pain. The words "I might forget..." most likely means he can forget after he has taken his vengeance. "He started struggling,Oh the fool Moonlight shining in his drool I slammed the shovel straight between his eyes "Stay down",I screamed "You're here to die" " Pretty selfexplained lines. The victim tries to escape so he gets hit by a shovel and gets no more chances to survive. "No matter what it is you believe You're lucky if you die in your sleep "Murder",he screamed "Oh why?" but that's a lie You killed me first,so now die " The victim doesn't understand what he did, because most likely he was just an undertaker doing his job to put a corpse into the grave. But it doesn't matter what the victim believes, he still did wrong to the main character and has to suffer. ""Murder" he screamed "Oh why?" " Even when the main character starts to shovel sand to the victim's grave the victim still doesn't understand why he is being murdered. Buried Alive song contains atleast one satanic belief. Which is fifth of the nine satanic statements that says: Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek. By this the main character rather seeks revenge than forgive his killer. |
