| This is one of my favorite songs from my college days. I loved it so much that I even considered naming my daughter Wysteria! Good thing I didn't though! I feel that this song is about one of his lost loves, Instead of using her name, he uses the flower wisteria, which he changes the spelling to Wysteria. He mourns for his lost love as she has left him for another man. He predicts that she will dump her new man too, and he feels sorry for him. That is why he says, "When he got to the sad part, did he stay a bit too long to save his heart?" This woman has a secret, and she changes her appearance. She is very mysterious. I find the song very hauntingly romantic. It will always be one of my favorites. I regret the fact that I never got to see Dan Fogelberg in concert. I had the biggest crush on him. May he forever rest in peace. | |
