So, I actually believe that this song, along with Dancing Dead, is about "The Cask of Amontillado". - "Take the time just to listen; when the voices screaming are much too loud" In "The Cask of Amontillado", Montresor took a break from masonry to listen and enjoy Fortunado's screams. - "Chances are that ya might find, that we share a common discomfort now" Montresor, toward the end, said his heart felt sick after walling in Fortunado. - "Darkness has kept the light concealed" I believe this is Fortunado's point of view, when he's locked in the catacombs - "It seems I've been buried alive" That's a give in. - "And I'm chained like a slave; trapped in the dark" Montresor chained Fortunado in the wall so he couldn't fight back. - i may be wrong....... |
