Malkmus always sings about many thing at same time. This song is about a girl named Ann, but it's about the end of Pavement too. "The damage has been done, I am not having fun anymore". Malkmus got sick of travel with Pavement "except I met her and her 5 false friends". The 5 false friends are the 5 pavement's members "tied, tied, tied to the tracks" Once Malkmus said he felt tied to the band. |
