| BTW, are we sure it's "Full of a glory" and "For love of glory"? | |

| After reading comments it appears that people think "They walked in line"` lyric somehow excuses those people, like "they were just following orders". In fact I think Curtis blames them for doing that and despises people he describes here. | |

| Also, I think "Alone and alone" means that since that girl treats people like that, she'll be left all alone someday. That's why he sings like it's already happened, this is inevitable. | |

I think these lyrics are pretty self-explanatory. The guy struggles to understand what role he plays in girl's life ("Won't you say you want to dance with me? Won't you listen to my misery?" -- mentioning two entirely different roles). Words "And now you see me here, and now you don't" don't mean he appears and disappears. I think it relates to phrase "I see you as a...", meaning "I think you are...". Thus, this lyric means "Now you think I'm this [for you, "role" comes up again], now you don't anymore". "Now all I think about is "sell sell sell" I just don't want you with no one else I've got the script and I know all the lines Just show me which are mine" He knows what he has to do, but uncertainty keeps him from changing (habits, behaviour). "Selling" means leaving something behind. |
