Gee, I might as well be the first to state the obvious. The song is about his "career-ending" motorcycle accident in 1990. Jagged stain on my skin Broken leg, born again Wide glide, upside down Twisted frame, my new crown "Wide glide, upside down, twisted frame" refers to his Harley-Davidson Wide Glide. His leg was badly shattered. I don't think there needs to be much more 'splaining. |

I changed "Gold through my eyes" to "go through my eyes" (and removed duplicated versus). I realize that it's "Gold" everywhere I look on lyrics sites, but listed to the song with headphone and try to tell me there is anything after "Go". Also, find the modern live version with Jakko Jakszyk singing and watch his lips. He just draws out "Go...". At least, it's definitely not "Gold". The lyrics make sense with Go. Sundown dazzling day...go through my eyes...but my eyes are turned within, see only black, empty. |

| @[Click57:23659] "With rhymes it is more difficult to find a meaning."—I love this song, hauntingly beautiful, but I suspect it was simply the wordplay of "rhyme or reason", and the rhyme with "time". Remember, Greg Lake bought us the immortal verse, "Every day a little sadder, a little madder, someone get me a ladder." ;-) Good job on the interpretation. | |

| @[Click57:23655] Only issue is that "eyes" was a mistake in the lyrics. The true closing line is, "our reasons are lost in our rhymes". A little word play. Obvious if you listen careful, even more so if you watch a video of Lake singing it. ;-) | |

"I sweat my rust" makes no sense. If you listen closely, it's "I wipe my brow and my sweat and my rust". "Enough to make my systems blow"—listen closely—it's "Enough to make my system glow" (it could be "grow", but glow makes more sense with "radioactive"). If you listen on good headphones it's clearly not "blow", and it's "system", not "systems". I submitted these changes to the lyrics. |
