"FUNNY HOW A MELODY SOUNDS LIKE A MEMORY" "GLORY DAYS THEY'LL PASS YOU BY" -The Boss shows the natural road of nostalgia -Eric shows a happy puppy's romantic optimism. The song is beautiful but the human condition commands that we look at our pasts. Any rational person must experience sadness in doing so. Those carnal joys are fleeting and though those memories are brought out when you're exposed to a specific auditory stimuli and you smile, if you have half a brain you should cry because that beauty is dead. Forever. That memory only matters to you and you couldn't express it properly if you tried. Springsteen. |

| SUPER CATCHY But this song is depressing. I'm being kind assuming the voice of the song isn't just an obsessed creep ass neighbor. That aside it's a story of a man that loves an unhappily married woman. It isn't told as a ballad so they don't run away together and her husband doesn't die and there is no divorce. Normal people stuck in the normal sadness of their normal lives. GO VOLS! | |

I BELIEVE. That: "Words are remembered us and them" is not the lyric, it is something closer to "Worlds of men blurred us and them" also it is "shades of blue or money HUES" not money "used". Also "always underground" over "always on the ground" Ramesh takes on too much. He just can't stop painting. The through line and pov of this voice is an attempt at hope. Laughing while the city falls down around you. The laughter is not sadistic. Noticing all of the hypocrisy and fear in life but knowing beauty and change exist too. ALSO The lyric that is the most human isn't "I'd leave you for the person you used to be" it's "God shake the sickness won't this decade ever end?". |
