I think this song may be the evolution of addict, starting at a first time user who is depressed and stressed. "I can see what the world has done to you I can feel the weight Feel the weight I can see what this life has handed you I can feel the weight Feel the weight" Is the drug talking to him, showing that he understands your problems and can help you deal with them by using whatever drug he is taking. "This time, this time Things'll work out just fine We won't let you slip away This time, this time Things'll work out just fine We won't let you leave this way If you want you can will it You can have it I can put it right there in your hands" I believe this line is from the addict saying to himself, just one more dose/hit and he will be okay, everything will work out and he has the will or power to beat the stress or depression down. The drug then says that it can grant his wishes, he only needs to do it. "I can hear what the spirits are telling you I can clear the weight Clear the weight I can see all the wolves as they circle you I can crush the weight Crush the weight" The drug is in his mind, saying that he hears what people say about his addiction and he can make it go away. The drug can also see his problems and he can deal with all of them for him. |

| Sneaker Pimps – Loretta Young Silks Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| I think the fact that he goes out of his way to mention the silk means he is contextualising it with Loretta young. He is not saying that the person(s) he is talking to is like Loretta young; he is saying they are the silk. They are the thing making everything softer, more obscured, and obtuse. Just my thoughts | |
