It is obviously about Icarus from the Greek myth, but it is using the story to tell the story of how teenagers today act. Both are young and naive and just trying out their "wings" if your will. They are new to the world and fly towards the things they find beauty and meaning in like Icarus did with the sun. I also think that Icarus was somewhat afraid and unsure of where he was going like many teens are. We find ourselves on a path we never meant to take and it often leads to destruction in the end. |
