Eliphas Levi, who drew the full figured Goat of Mendes, translated "Baphomet" as a reversed composition of three abbreviations: Tem. Oph. Ab., standing for the Latin Templi omnium hominum pacis abhas: "(The God of) the Temple of Peace Among All Men." Levi felt this to be a reference to King Solomon's Temple, which he believed had the sole purpose of bringing peace to the world. Eliphas Lévi considered the Baphomet to be a depiction of the Absolute in symbolic form and, as such, this is fully explained in the article Sigil of Baphomet. According to the author Michael Howard, Levi based the illustration of his Baphomet on a Gargoyle that was on a building: the Commandry of Saint Bris le Vineux, owned by the Knights Templars. He says: "The Gargoyle is in the form of a bearded horned figure with pendulous female breasts, wings and cloven feet. It sits in a crossed-legged position which resembles statues of the Celtic stag god, Cernnunnus or the Horned One, found in Gaul (France) before the Roman occupation." Also, from the Egyptian mystery portions: Tem: to name as in to proclaim: Tem is a title of Apep. Oph (again, the "ph" is an "F" sound as in "foe"): winged serpent or dragon. Ab hearing, wisdom, and understanding; intelligence and Will. Again, Baphomet (Bafomet) spelled backwards. In short: Serpent of Wisdom, Serpent Knowledge. The Narjolpa is doing a yoga connected to Kundalini Yoga; Kundalini means Inner Serpent. The word Baphomet is semi-Greek: Baphe Metis. It means initiation by origin of water (baptismo) and Wisdom of Measurement as by math (metes - metric). In esoteric literature there is shown the far more ancient Babylonian version of the word: Bahu Mid. Unfortunately, this is not easy to come by. Bahu is Hebrew for The Waters (not the ocean). First you should understand that Dimmu Borgir has a strange belief system that merges Devil Worship (reverse Christianity, Thiestic Satanim) Paganism and Lavey Satanism (naturalistic, athiestic Sataism), Luciferianism, and Gnosticism. The song is talking about how before the spread of Catholicism, the world had many gods (Which we call "Pagan" gods now) this includes the Greek, Roman, Egyptian etc. myths and religions of those times. Catholicism spread through with the inquisition, which was where the Catholic church murdered millions of people, unless they accepted Catholicism as the one true faith. "My word and world holds ground and is real" Is talking about the universal laws of nature. "Your world is like floods of poisoned water A language spoken with spit from different tongues You can never corrupt me again " Is talking about the so called "word of god" or the bible and the teachings of Christianity/Judaism. Anyone who knows anything knows the bible is a collection of stories written by Jews and translated in Greek, English, etc. "I protect every man guilty of sin The ultimate sin being me The vapour from the plague That infested my mind, body and soul Obscured my view from wisdom The mist that had me wonder in resentment cleared And troubles me no more" This part refers to being fooled into believing the lies of the church and the so called "word of god" and rising above it, and being free from it. It means he is no longer troubled by thoughts of eternal torment. Also refers to the fact that the Catholic church held society and science back for hundreds of years. And the Catholic church in those times said science in those times was the "work of the devil". Obliviously you don't understand what "Black" in Black metal is referring to. "Black" is referring to darkness. That includes Satan, Satanism, witchcraft, sorcery, death, murder, the occult, anti religion, anti Christianity, evil. dark paganism etc. etc. Don't like it don't complain about it.
