I was thinking that this song could actually be about the "Mer" or "sea" between us. Between Self and Other, and especially that feeling in a relationship gone awry. Like civilizations, we hurl ourselves out of hurt "Destroy-demand," and that first verse leads into the second, where recognizing the the eternal seeking to communicate and feel an other being as our self, or for another self to feel and communicate ours: "Capsize-explain, express, stomach, take it out out out out out out out" Take it out, because we already have it within, but we scream to get it out and be heard. |
