If you look at it from my viewpoint, this song is SET in the year 2112, after all forms of music have gone bad, and the "person" who is singing acknowledges this. In the third part, he references playing a guitar for the first time. Perhaps it's the last remaining guitar ever? Also, in other parts, you hear that his brethren don't accept the sound it makes, and he gets thrown out. Maybe they're so accustomed to music from the future that they don't know of this form of music at all? This song does take place in the future, after rock/metal has been destroyed, and this is it's retribution Ballad. |
