Now remember just my opinion(s); First of all, where did this kind of music go? We get little bits and pieces of our forefathers from the likes of these, David Gray, and a select few. It does, after i've had my fill, make me hungrier. Here's what i've been able to deduce from the lyrics i've listened to carefully, and Britebluedress's comment from 9.21.13 == side note - how must have that been, to be there and ask the artist personally what the heart motives where?! #jealous :) == So here i'll have a stab at the lyrics and i'll try to punctuate them in a way that narrates what they say to me: On your brown eyes shine a shore light on the way to go, And the sun chides you, reeling all against your glow (the sun is scolding or rebuking her glow and majesty in his jealousy) And we lost sight of it: a breath tied up in Summer's hold And your eyes screamed it: "BURRRGH ISLAND!" in Sepia tones (because here eyes are brown, the light shining off of them appears in tones of Sepia. Sepia is a reddish-brown color) (he saw Burgh Island through her eyes... if you've ever seen anything through a woman's eyes, this might make sense to you) And if I's ever to leave, I'd say before I go That you're the best woman I ever known. (still jealous and glad to see her leave his sight) And we lost sight of it, breath tied up in Summer's hold, And the one right (as in the rights to the short breath they lost sight of) for it, on Burgh Island in sepia tones.
