I'm leaning towards heroin. He can't start his day without putting a needle in his eye, he doesn't want to face the day without it... He talks about a broken record, maybe the broken record of telling himself he's gonna quit and never being able to. Also a lull above his neck might refer to the rush after banging, "but still below my spleen" could then mean he can't shit, since H or opiates in general cause some rowdy constipation... Just a thought |
