| The entire song is a response to a question posed about running. Why you'd run- him or anyone. And I imagine he keeps saying why because the unspoken other keeps asking for a reason sufficiently justifiable to explain the act of running. Why anyone would. Running is a choice. To get up and start running requires more than just energy and effort and time.If you run because you love it, you get it. If you run because -- of many reasons why people do which, here, these lyrics, he's implying when he answer why and then negates the rationality of that reason. If you don't run, this song is for you too. It makes no sense to many who ask why I run everyday. Because. I won't tell you bc I cannot say why I just do it and I know but it's a fallacy of language to explain. It must be felt. That's how this song feels to me. Like running for the right reasons which are anything except extrinsic, aescetic, appearance-driven, escapism, change etc. | |
