I'm not that great of a close reader, but I do think I have a different view of this song. Instead of comparing this track to a romantic relationship, I compared it to the relationship between an abusive family and the victim. The victim (to me) seems to finally leave and get away. No more abuse, and even though it is painful, they find the strength tobget through their tough situation. Also, when it says "And I won't let you choke, on the noose around your neck", I think the victim so to speak does not wish any harm towards their abuser... then, alas, they tell the abuser to see the reality of what's going on, and the victim will be free of the abuser. That's just my opinion, and it relates to my situation living with my mother and step dad, who were psychologically abusive. |
