I had friend pass away a few years ago. He had many interesting experiences in his life where he would wake up in the middle of the night and he would be frozen, or "paralyzed" if you will. He then would have an intense, supernatural experience. He described it as some of the most terrifying and intense moments of his life. And after a few minutes it would end. I dont know what that is called, but I think that is what Angels & Airwaves is getting at with this song. |

"I had a magical experience this year when I lost my father and I was woken up in the middle of the night feeling his presence. It literally changed my life. It was the first 'paranormal' experience I ever had. I wrote the song Tunnels about it, doubting religion ... And two years later when this happened with my father, I then wrote the chorus .... That something beautiful and epic is on the other side" - Tom Delonge (on Facebook) |

I think this song is about depression and suicide. In the first verses Tom Delonge is singing about being sad and disconnected from everyone. He also talks about how he is trying to come in contact with God, but he is not getting an answer. The climax of the song (where it starts "Dont you go, come a little bit closer now") is God speaking back, basically saying, he loves him and just wants his son to come home, if he would like.. |

| Simple Plan – Freaking Me Out (feat. Alex Gaskarth) Lyrics

To me, it's about when someone gets caught up in drugs. Drugs changes a person, their habits, who they are, and how they act. My brother got tangled in drugs four years ago, and he was never the same, I dont even remember what he used to be like. This song is talking about that, he saying, "youre freaking me out, who are you?" because this person changed and is totally different. I really like this song... |

The connection between this song and the movie Tom released with Angels and Airwaves "Love" in 2011 is crazy. This song relates perfectly with the movie. He says "should I go back, should I." That is a dilemma the main character, Captain Lee Miller faces when he cant decide if he should jump to his death on earth or not. Or when he says "I hope I wont forget you." In the movie he keeps staring at a picture of a women that I assume is his wife, and he forgets her name. And obviously "I feel alone and tired." Is talking about how the Captain is feeling. It's crazy, I wonder if Tom planned this all along or if he just decided to make that connection work, because he thought it would be cool... |

| Angels and Airwaves – The Adventure Lyrics

I think this song is a love story, put simply. It's talking about the adventure that is life full of love and partnership. Along with having kids, in the second verse Tom mentions having kids and then the move out: "Where all the children left without a trace" and before you know it they are adults: "Only to come back as pure as gold"
I love this song very much, it makes me look forward to the rest of my existence with the love of my life. |

| Angels and Airwaves – Call to Arms Lyrics

The first thing that caught my attention was the title call to arms, as in, when a man or women is called upon and asked to fight for their country. So I see this as a man leaving his wife for war. And in the first verse he starts laying down a beautiful scene, a place where they can go to feel peace and feel like they are still with each other despite him being gone. And I like the second verse a lot, because I think it's the husband writing back home, asking how his wife is coping with what he's doing and going through, and then he says " I will offer a line, and it's ready for use". And that leads back into the scene that was laid down before, the place where they can feel peace. And the final verse is the wife writing back, basically writing, you can survive this war if you believe.
I really love this song, I think it can relate to anytime you leave someone you love very much. But there is always a place you can go in your head to feel their arms again and feel peace, until your reunite. Excellent work Tom and Angels and Airwaves |
