| @[teaspill:850] i read addiction from your interpretation and the chorus made much more sense. addicts don't let death stop them from their next fix. Even when they're dying, physically and mentally, nothing seems to stop them from trying to get another hit. Thanks. | |

First Verse - He's saying that although his life may be lacking in material things, he never envied other people cause he's contented with his life cause his beloved is with him and that person makes him feel complete. Following Verses - Retelling of how he reached rock bottom, lost all faith, done all the wrong things that we are capable of and more and then found salvation through a person who accepted him without judgements, a person who doesn't have much but still made an effort to give and help him. Through that person he came to believe again, not in god, faith, or any holy beings, but believe in the love that people are capable of feeling and giving. Chorus - This part tells us how much he loves that person. How that love helped him overcome the "death" he faced. I don't think he was referring to physical death rather a representation of it; addiction, a habit we can't break, people holding us down. |

| I think this is from a father's POV while talking to his son. The father is explaining to his son what he did to his mother and why he did it. And although he still loves his wife he had to go cause he did something wrong and he can't take hurting her more. He's also telling his son that any actions done by his parent are not his fault. He's also trying to explain that not everything in life is black and white although it shouldn't excuse him for what he has done. | |
