It's about an on-and-off relationship. She and her guy are on the way to break up but she can't decide what to do. Even though the romance isn't good for her (or them) she loves him more anything you could imagine and that guy means the world to her. She's afraid of being alone. I'm a daughter of the sadness - she refers to her depression I've been here too many times before - referring to breakups Been abandoned and I'm scared now - maybe this line is about her father? When they love me, they leave me - this is the most saddest line for me. |

I think the song is about depression even death and self-harming, He's in depression what wants to break and kill him but he fights against it (I'm not running from you). I can imagine as he looks in the mirror and he screams "look in my eyes you're killing me, killing me" and a blade or a knife is in his hands. He says "all I wanted was you" - you refers to himself as a happy (healthy) person. He wants to be another person (I tried to be someone else), that healthy person but he can't change. He knows he's depressed and accept this fact (I know now, this is who I really am inside) but still fights because he wants to live. |
