Besides the mess that is Jon Mess’s horribly inconceivable and idiotic lyrics, it seems like this song is about a man who appears to be a robot either symbolically or literally. “Put on a show, light it up” I believe is in response to watching someone go through emotions. The robot can’t have emotions and finds it beautiful, finds them incredible. “Show me the way you’re growing. Your catharsis is beautiful, I wish I could be you.” It’s finding beauty in the simplest of things; truly our emotions are a wondrous, beautiful and difficult thing. "Your catharsis is beautiful Brighter How I wish I could touch you Feel you, breathe you, be just like you" Very well some of the best vocals from Tilian on this whole album and DGD's discography. I don't know the lore behind the "robot" series from Dance Gavin Dance but I'd be interested on anyone else's take. |

I wish this band used its talents in a way that was more meaningful. They’re so talented musically and Tillian is in a league of his own for vocals, but the nonsense screaming just takes me right out of it. I can’t form a thought around what this song’s meaning is with this sort of foolish language. Humph. |
