My interpretation doesn't have to do with cheating. Here's how I see it: The girl has feelings for him that he does not reciprocate. Regardless, at the end of a night of drinking he still wants her to come home with him. He wants to pretend that he loves her for the night so she'll share his bed. Then, he keeps doing it even though he's not invested in a non-physical relationship. He knows he's hurting her but continues to lead her on. Deep down he wishes one of them would stop going through the motions because he feels guilty for being the kind of person who would prioritize their own selfish desires over the feelings of others. My two cents anyway... |
