I'm pretty sure this is about suicide. A few main thoughts as to why I believe this: 1. Sometimes goodbye's the only way - Could be referencing a few things, moving, death of a close friend or relative, suicide, etc. 2. The Sun will set for you - An impending negative, again could be a few things, but I think this line rules out the death of a loved one. 3. In cards and flowers on your window | Your friends all plead with you to stay - Who pleads with a friend to not move in a goodbye card? This to me says someone in a hospital bed, recovering from an attempted suicide. Their friends begging for them to reconsider, to not give up, etc. 4. Sometimes beginnings aren't so simple - I believe this infers there is to be no beginning, only a goodbye. If the author were moving to start a new life, there would be a beginning. I could be wrong, I haven't spoken with Chester and Mike :) But I do think it's about suicide. |
