I think this song is kinda like a "slap in the face"... Like the person is all high and mighty n think that they're always right. And she's saying, oh yeah sure, I'll take you as you are and love you as you are because you're so perfect right, but really. Does anyone really, n sincerely love the way they are these days? Lol could be way of course there but gave it a shot. |

I love this song A LOT. So I'm just going to dissect it n try making my own sense of it if you will... I like the way your sparkling earrings lay Upon your skin so brown And I want to sleep with you in the desert night With a million stars all around Sounds like a perfect night to me. He's obviously really digging this chick and wants to create a perfect moment with her because she's no ordinary girl. I got a peaceful easy feelin' And I know you won't let me down 'Cause I'm already standin' On the ground I believe he has this peaceful easy feeling because he has some sort of control over his heart. Basically his head rules. He won't be disappointed because he isn't expecting. How can someone fall when they're already planted on the ground. And I found out a long time ago What a woman can do to your soul Aw but she can't take you any way You don't already know how to go This reveals that he has had a previous, serious relationship where he fell in love, head over heels. So he already knows the ropes of love. I get this feelin' I may know you As a lover and a friend This voice keeps whisperin' in my other ear Tells me I may never see you again As I previously said before, she's a special girl that he's in love with. He has a special feeling about her, and as humans,we tend to still have some sort of hope. Of course he'll be happy if they turned out to be lovers and friends! But. Then there's that other voice that has him planted on the ground...sorta optimistic and pessimistic simultaneously. He's just guarding his heart =) I'm kinda in this boat. |
