| I agree with many of the comments here, but still think there is room for more. I feel the song may not be about an imagined relationship, but about a real relationship that is lop-sided and lonely. The kind where one person is really in love, but the other is not. It may seem mutual for awhile but there comes a point of realization that the happily ever after you imagine is fictional. You may dream of how you wish things could be, and how you long for the other person to reciprocate, but in the end, love is lost and the only one who understands what could have been, is the one with the broken heart. | |
