I think you all got it wrong my interpretation is as follows She took some magic mushrooms/lsd/other spacy drugs in Amsterdam with her friend Flashing lights in a city with a booming tourist trade can look like flames on shrooms (touristy) Your eyes go very big on mushrooms and that can look scary (allot can look scary on shrooms tho) Crawling on the roadside lights swinging... yeah thats what walking feels like :) I'm a flying kite in the breeze just Restlessly seeking images a child needs to help them sleep I was thinking that I should see someone Just to find out that I'm alright Feeling free (flying) but crazy and trying to calm yourself wich can be difficult on shrooms But most of all, by the morning I will have grown back. Tripping on mushrooms can really make you feel like a totally different person, like you see yourself from a different persons point of view. It can feel like you are not you anymore. But by the morning you will grow yourself back and feel normal. Also very typical thing to do for young tourists from the UK in Amsterdam is taking shrooms. I live in Amsterdam, and took shrooms quite some times. It just popped to me the 2nd time reading the lyrics before seeing other peoples intrepetation and still makes more sense than others to me now, Lyrics have quite some mistakes here and should be updated |
