David Bowie – Drive-In Saturday Lyrics 9 years ago
I think that when Bowie speaks of 'The Astronette' he is actually referring to what we call the Internet. I think Bowie fans everywhere should start referring to the internet as 'The Astronette' in memory of him. And how fitting that the internet became truly out there in space with Chris Hadfield singing 'Space Oddity' ! Cosmic !

The Lightning Seeds – Thinking Up Looking Down Lyrics 11 years ago
Interesting interpretation but to me the song is all about losing a loved one. Possibly a grandparent or older relative.... You've shed that skin; it's lying there.
Where are you now? I hope it's heaven there. And the last verse.... And Oh,
I miss those days.

All I can say,
Is I miss those days...
This is what makes music so special. We all have our own interpretation about what lyrics mean and in this case the view is exactly opposite (birth and death) but it doesn't stop it being a great song or our enjoyment of it. I just thought that having sung about his son, Riley, this one was at the other end of the spectrum, mourning the loss of a loved Grandad or Mother or favourite Uncle.....
