I've always thought this song was meant to be for a significant other who had died. "When I reach out for a hand to Pull me through the storm Pull me through the norm I reach for you" -Always hoping the person who died helps him from afar through his daily life "Join a million people in the church tonight" -He's attending a funeral, or attending a mass on the anniversary of that person's death There's parts of the song that don't quite fit with this meaning (As if it really matters, You Run), but still, it's my two cents on the topic. |
