In the beginning, it is the alter ego talking to the actual self. The voice from afar is the fearless, strong, and confident alter ego that he aspires to be, unlike his actual shy self. The alter ego, who is currently not tied to his actual self at this time, is pleading for the actual self to man up and make the decision to mend the two egos together to complete who he really is supposed to be(since both the alter ego and the actual self are both conjured up by him). In a sense, he is both the alter ego and the actual self depending on the situation. The alter ego is so frustrated with the true self that it even states, "if I could part, it wouldn't be so hard" The alter ego is still confident that the actual self is capable of mending the two by saying, "Well it's true yes, but you won't get far telling me that you are all you're meant to be when the one from our dream is sitting right next" "The one from OUR dream is sitting right next to me", the go is saying this line, thus the one sitting next to him(me) is the actual self. You just need to be yourself that is it So does he change and mend the two egos? Probably NOT! He responds to this profound knowledge that his INNERSPEAKER has brought him by saying, "OH ALTER EGO" |

When you research "high noon" you come up with an idiom. this means----------- "time, set out in advance, at which an important decision is to be made or a nemesis is to be confronted " When you look up the idiom for "long shadow" it means an event which has a long lasting impact on the person or persons be for that he says "here i am trying to be strong" so what ever he is planing to tell her, he has to be strong, and also that he has planned to tell her(NOON SUN) and that what ever he tells her is going to have a long lasting(LONG SHADOW) effect on one or both of them. i agree with the dude above tho! i think this song is about a guy scared to tell a girl that he is in love with her because theyre probably just fuck buddies. or they could be just really close friends AT THE END he finially told her, the album is called lonerism so im pretty sure when he says "The curse has won again Soon l be alone" the curse is being a loner. he realized it never really was love. |
