Whenever I hear this song, I think of my sister who never thought she was "good enough" Ridiculed as a child for being quiet and studious by an alcoholic father, mom always tried to make it ok. There were physical and mental bruises that scarred her. She met a beautiful young man who loved and understood her, and when she finally learned to trust, he was killed in a tragic accident. She ended up being married to one of the cruelest men I have ever known. Her death from a brain tumor at age 49 was almost merciful. I often think how we (her siblings) tried to be good to her and there for her… |
