Many other songs on the same topic. Sure it's about gargoyles and zombies, etc, but it is again about brother Joe. The evil eye Pete sees in Hunter eats Hunter is Joe also I believe. "Another family better not divide, i'll beat this jackal down, this interference ends. I'll send it back beyond." Under the Knife also describing the brotherly knife fight. |

I think people think way too deeply about Chevelle lyrics. This song is brilliant and a masterpiece, but it is simply about having sex with a belt tied around your neck restricting oxygen to the brain at the point of orgasm for a very intense RUSH. Brilliant because Pete's guitar is providing the feeling of the Violent Circling rush you would feel.. Listen to the song. You are supposed to orgasm at 4:40. |

i think this song is a shot at Maynard and the constant irritating to Pete comparisons. "Climb on your pedestal and hang from it" (the Noose--APC) and "SCAB!!" probably a Tool 46 & 2 reference (picking scabs again). We (chevelle) last because we're colorful, and as for you (maynard) "you're overrated anyhow" - and "currently you spread yourself so thin" (Tool, APC, Puscifer)... get it? |

I think I read too that it's about Pete's woman getting pissed because Pete was checking out young hotties at the mall. "you're breaking my pinata, while i'm hinting at my lust for you" means she is still the beneficiary of the hotties and his "wandering eye", so she shouldn't get pissed. |
