This song is about lovers not wanting to be apart. "Hot dive into frozen waves where the past comes back to life" Here we see that a relationship can be as large as the pacific. Though every relationship ends as the ocean ends with a wave. The frozen wave is an attempt to block the other person from entering. But the hot dive (jumping back in) breaks the wall of emotions. It brings the feelings back to the relationship that they previously had for each other. "If I fear for the selfish pain, it was worth it every time Hold still right before we crash `cause we both know how this ends" Though they know that the heartbreak will make it horrible. The time that they spend together is something that they both cherish and they keep going back for more of each other. "A clock ticks 'till it breaks your glass and I drown in you again" The glass represents the fragile heart that has started healing from the breakup. Once the wave/glass/wall is broken the person is drowned in the emotions of the relationship again. "Cause you are the piece of me I wish I didn't need" The couple have grown with each other and developed a co-dependency that they cannot live without each other. They both have a part of each others heart no matter how many times they separate. "If our love is tragedy, why are you my remedy?" Even though she knows that their love is going to end. You can also see this on the video that they constantly collide coming back to each other. Not in human form, but in the form of cars, light-bulbs, drill-bit heads. It's only about two people choosing what's best for them and their relationship. And in the final scene they end up back together! |

She just simply wants to be next to him in their life journey. The song in its entirety is meant to convey to the man not neglect or disregard his lady.
