@[kltsin:431] Your comments are the most lucid as i am an artist as well and music videos are a concept not from the artist who actually made the song but a concept of that made to sell the artist and rarely has anything to do with the artist. Though I would hate to say that this video is one of the best uses of the lyrics and most heartfelt I have ever seen it doesn't do the lyrics justice. You did in fact insert yourself into a song but as the victim as you feel you are. Hozier cheated on her, thats the story and she made him pay. I wish it was more but the whole song is about his guilt and getting caught... maybe betraying a mutual friend he was sleeping with. Would you make a video about a cheater or something epic? I like my first interpretation as it was she that was in fault but I was the guilty one, she just was the one who used it against me and them. So I think the boiling point is that some one that is religious has gone to extraordinary lengths to manipulate you in horrible ways and defies their own beliefs for the sake of anger. And that my friends is the story of these lyrics. If you don't get it by now how could someone so religious that i care for attack me so easily yet forget about values they were taught from the bible. the whole song is about Hippocrates saying they love their god but break every commandment out their to find their own happiness. I never stopped trying to find the solution and always thought I was right but this is the first time I know and it is for selfish reasons as my life has always been drama. I truely did love a woman who I lost yet killed me and etc// Many of these things that I wrote were personal and how the song affected me. I am happy I know it now, better than the bs out there but we all need to use lyrics for our own personal life and please dont stop as if anything here makes someone happy then so be it. |

I am irked at those that commented here in any way using perception of the lyrics via the video. Not only is the video produced from an outside source after the fact as well as his manager for the sole purpose of stardom in some way but you guys used the video instead of the lyrics. Please try to actually hear the lyrics for once instead of seeing them in your own perception. We can perceive enough without it being dictated to us, the truth wont ever shine or be pretty, or even ever revealed. All of these comments are about the video but not the song or the lyrics. kltsin was the only one to feel the lyrics like i do as they twist and swerve instead of the video. In fact i looked into the interviews Hozier was in and he described that he wasnt the person that wrote those lyrics.... Or did as it well read on As a song writer nothing comes in clumps normally. This song is about love with people that only have the chance to express an amazing expression of their love during sex. This is not lust its love and they or at least he feels it during sex. Its not that she isnt their but she is and the union is amazing. When they both let down their guard to be with each other, they cant do this without sex but its all they have to communicate as their real world lives and dissfunctions predicate everything. Trust in me as that ots a broken thing, So if you actually paid attention to the lyrics instead of the video kudos. basically he loves a forbidenn girl in a distastful union and maybe the are so broken and hurt so bad but when he is inside her thats the end game of all as she wont be their for him the next day.. True love and hating your love or willingness to say she destroyed me is the answer that I see and I am the only one besides kltsin that hasnt used the video to manipulate our views. nothing homosexual or close to it, just a lucky break you feasted on via the video |
