Down in New Orleans I’ve seen the news, and I'm confused" is a reference to Hurricane Katrina. |

I think Graham Colton has written this song towards his father, as evidenced by his lyrics, "is life repeating history." I think he is comparing his own experience of falling in love to what his father's experience was. He also changes from "when YOU saw her" to "when I saw her", which reinforces this somewhat. |
