Again, this song is definitely about heroin. (Ian taping his vein when singing "I break the surface so I can breathe") The line "Shut the door so I can breathe" is about doing heroin (breathe) in the bathroom and shutting the door (to be out of the sight of people who disprove). Heroin addicts are often found O.D.d in the bathroom where they went to shoot up. Shut the door so I can shoot up. The obvious lines about finding an O.D. victim "She's not breathing, She's not moving…" "I burn a fire to stay cool" could be about people getting into smoking heroin to be cool? "I burn myself I am the fuel" accidentally killing yourself, O.D.? "I never meant to be cruel" Didn't mean to hurt my friends by my addiction? |
