I as a Christian like the part where he says we all live under the reign of one King, but I don't like the part where he says don't say a last prayer or GD(which is very blasphemous), and when he says the answer lies in you in the beginning when the answer lies in Jesus ,so overall I don't like this song and he and the band need to repent and rewrite the lyrics to more honor God. |

This song is about greed and how it's ingrained in mankind. He mentions that the saints we see are all made of gold(we even materialize saints to objects of monetary value.) He then alludes to the fact that our dreams/goals are all the worst of all(the plight of man's dream to be rich) and the blood runs stale (death awaits us). He wants to shelter the innocent young ones and hide the fact that all men live for the quest for more money, but he can't hide the truth because he's the same as all the greedy men and his goals are the same(this is his kingdom come(to make more $)). He sees that the eyes of the innocent shine so bright and he's going to let go because he doesn't want to ruin their innocence with his demons that he can't escape unless he can be shown how(practically an impossibility). |
