You're right!! The song is the last song of a trilogy. First there was Danny & Lucy (11pm), from The Strength / The Sound / The Songs (2005) where Lucy left home with her boyfriend Danny, then ended up dying in a car accident. Then on their next album, Rock the Rebel/Metal the Devil (2007). There came Mr.& Mrs. Ness. Where in the song, Lucy's mother could no longer handle the loss of her (most likely) oldest daughter. So she took her own life. The trilogy then ends with Mary's Ann Place, off of Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood (2008). Where it's the Father, who visit's his youngest daughter Mary Ann and they both still miss their sister/daughter and mother/wife. Then he visit's his daughter and wife's graves. He's trying to forgive his wife for taking her own life. While he's still grieving the loss of his first and oldest child Lucy. To do this type of trilogy is actually pretty awesome! You'd have to be a die hard Volbeat fan to figure this all out. So I guess, I'm that type of fan! LOL!! |
