I think that Avril wrote this song to a friend/boyfriend (male, I mean, I don't think that this could be a girl). This guy has changed, he doesn't have the same look or behaviour anymore and she gets tired of it because he told her that he would always be himself and true. I understand the song like this you know, I had a friend that I loved so much and he became the type of guy who is not special anymore, he changed all his clothes, he insults me although he still appreciates me, I'm sure... But you know, he's not the same anymore and if I could chose a song for him, I would say that this song is the best way to tell him what I think. That's why Avril is that inspiring to me, she always says the truth and she is true. |

For me, this song refers to the story of a girl (mostly a teenage girl) who is feeling bad and takes the decision to runaway. She is alone and she is waiting for someone to save her. I really appreciate this song. Sometimes I feel bad and I expect for someone to save me from my life, to take me out of this place, change my mind... But no one is showing up because this person doesn't know me (and... I don't know her either haha). But I think that it's the expression of an ache due to the feeling that everything is messing around you and no one is here to comfort you. |

The fact that she is using the past to talk about her situation means that it is definitely over. The song is obviously about breaking up. The girl who is talking is heartbroken, sad. The melody really makes me feel nostalgia. Just saying, I might be wrong, but anyway, this song is just awesome, I kinda love this album, even if those songs are not the kind of song who made Avril known then (it doesn't make any sense), she grown up and I like it ! |

I think that the girl who is talking in this song is a lack of love. She's feeling bad and wants some comfort. The man who she is talking to is familiar, maybe an ex boyfriend, he is drunk, as she is, and we can notice that the alcohol is omnipresent in the song. The relationship is physical and it lasts only for one night. She is not sure about her feelings, and he is empty in love. The lyrics are very sensual, as Avril's voice and I think this song is awesome. This type of music really fits to her voice, I truly enjoy it. |
