Is it really "the breakdown scheme"? It always sounded like "up and down stream" to me. I don't know what either means. I really don't get internal conflict from this song. The emotion projected is more like confidence, almost to a point of megalomania. I agree with Ductape that it has something to do with a philosophy of nature and rock and roll and probably drugs, as a means of personal liberation. |

Some people may have trouble with this, but the real meaning of the song is not as nuanced. He met this "lover" in the jungle (a chimpanzee). Can you imagine trying to have a relationship with a chimpanzee, including sexually? It would drive you mad, make you crazy, etc, where doing those things with a human would be within normal emotional boundaries so that really rules out a human-human interpretation. Happy songs everybody! |
