Marina and the Diamonds – Happy Meal Lyrics 11 years ago
I had posted this on Youtube, but I will post it on here too.

My personal opinion of this song is that it is about a girl who watched this other girl who is known as the class whore get called all these things by other people, such as "cheap" and stuff, hence, the Happy Meal metaphor. The person singing also is judgmental as well of the girl, but is also confused on why the people who have such a problem about the person only judge and not take the time to learn the situation or to even help the girl out. So, she takes matters in her hands and she helps the girl, despite having her own problems. But despite having her own issues to deal with, she helps the girl and pulls her out of the slump and the girl ends up successful. The singer then tells the people who had judged the girl that it was easy to say such cruel things... but since they didn't take any action to help and just slung hatred and bigotry, she asks who is the real bad guy. The point is, it is easy to say shit, but actually doing something is different. Hence the line, "It's so easy to say what you said..."

Panic! at the Disco – I Write Sins Not Tragedies Lyrics 11 years ago
So I may be taking the title of this song too literally, since I am a writer myself, but this is what I grew to think of what the song is about.

As a writer, I constantly imagine myself in different situations and think about how I or the character who I am trying to write would react in that type of a situation.

So this is about a guy who suddenly gets an idea in his mind that his wife is cheating on him. So he gets paranoid and starts to imagine if the rumors became true, hence why at the beginning he says, "Oh well, imagine, as I am pacing the pews of a church corridor and I can't help but to hear an exchanging of words."

He imagined the conversation and you see how he feels about the situation as he screams at them to mind their own business and thinks about confronting his wife. But he quickly shakes off these feelings, knowing he has no evidence and saying that he needs to face the situation with composure. If his theory does hold up to be true, he won't let it affect him that much. It would be a story of sin, not a tragedy.

The rest of the song is him going through the wedding trying to convince himself that if his rumors were true, she wouldn't be marrying him right? ("Well I'll look at it this way I mean technically our marriage is saved.") And him trying not to cause a scene.

The rest is up to the imagination whether or not she is truly cheating on him...but he is prepared if she is.

He writes sins, not tragedies.

Marina and the Diamonds – Porn Is Good for the Soul Lyrics 11 years ago
The song is about how women are objectified in society.

In life, when people hear a man is watching porn, it is considered a normal thing and looked past as nothing more than 'men being men.' Women enjoying anything sexual usually places them as lower individuals though and people consider them whores.

There are a lot of women who secretly watch porn and enjoy it, but aren't allowed to be open about it... and this song shows that.

Very raw and very real. Another great, underground hit by Marina.

Say Anything – Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too Lyrics 11 years ago
My personal opinion is that the singer here is a loser. He doesn't like talking and/or interacting with people and stays in his room all day because people fling shit at him. But he hates the fact that he lives as a hermit Hence the lines: "If I die and go to hell real soon, it will appear to me, as this room." And he compares himself to the living dead because he does nothing but waste away in his room.

He obviously thinks lowly of the world, seeing as he wants to inform the people of a sick, dark world!

But despite that, he goes on the internet and talks to random strangers. Whilst on the internet, he starts talking to a girl and eventually, they swap numbers or give each other their Skype address. A girl who he didn't really care for, seeing as he wasn't interested in what she had to say. Chances are, they only swapped numbers because he thought she was hot (my guess anyway?)

But one day, as he is talking to her on the phone, she starts touching herself. He is shocked by this, not knowing what to do really. But when he is about to go to bed, he suddenly starts laughing about it because he is nothing more than a 'loser in his room who everyone thought would die alone' but he managed to get a girl excited, which is why the song is called, "Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too."

This is what the singer is thinking. He finds the fact that anyone finding him 'sexy' as funny. Kind of a sad concept, but it's a good song.

This is just my viewpoint on it though.
