| No offense intended. Lyrics, although quite simple, are not vanila. The words speak of aged lovers who suffered grievously in the past, who need to be together, yet given the space of the ocean. The song is an invitation by the singer for his beloved to try one more time to love. The lush arrangements you noted represents the rhythm of waves, waves here being the rhythm of life.
