I agree with most of your points. I tend to think the relationship has been built on lies hence "built upon a burial ground." I also tend to believe the "Frozen Creek" is actually a memory stuck in time. Time flows like a creek, unless it is frozen. It is perhaps a memory of this relationship that once was, and now it is not. Many times in literature, snow, winter, cool, and frozen are all analogous to death or separation. So I like the idea of this "frozen creek" being the memory of a past (unfortunately) failed relationship that is held timeless by this motionless creek. |
