Anybody notice Mark Mcgrath emulate Scott in the very beginning of "RPM" (Floored)..."I am"...just like Scott in beginning of "Dead and Bloated," the first line in the first song on STP's first album, echoed in the first line of the first song of Sugar Ray's second album...(which also happens to be SR's best song!) Just wondering?

Seems like I'm in a small minority but I don't see the STP sounding like Nirvana thing at all. never would confuse this, or any STP song, for nirvana...besides Nirvana doesn't even sound like Nirvana, I mean, which Nirvana are we talking about? The Bleach Nirvana is totally different than the Nevermind Nirvana...in utero's less distinctive but also quite different...and as for Unplugged, well, sure nobody's ever going to confuse Lake of Fire with Negative Creep. No, Scott and Kurt's voices/styles are worlds apart...wanna hear somebody that sounds like Kurt listen to Gavin from Bush. Also, what is with all this STP ripped off AIC, Nirvana, Sound Garden and whichever other grunge bands people are citing...that's ridiculous, STP ripped off Led Zeppelin...then the Beetles (like every other self respecting band with talent)...then veered back toward LZ again with No 4...while their counterparts mentioned above tended to gleen inspiration from Sabbath and the like. (and Zep)
Also, beginning of unplugged version of Crackerman sounds right off of Jane's Addiction's Stray's album.

Stone Temple Pilots – Big Empty Lyrics 11 years ago
Absolutely...but also depends on what you're driving, and how...Empty's great for cruising but if you're in a fast car, launching into an all out run over a canyon or mountain road, check out Starla by Smashing Pumpkins. Not a huge fan, normally, but phenomenal guitar, never thought they had that in 'em . . . anyway great STP comments . . . and dig your sarcasm!
