I think this song is about the Barenaked Ladies. It's kind of like a break up song, but there's nothing implying a romantic relationship. Page spent a lot of time unhappy in the band before he actually left, and this song is about all those signs in the relationship. Then finally, the chorus is strikingly similar to 'Call and Answer,' one of their more popular songs. Of course Page also wrote a lot of songs about fading romantic relationships (Break Your Heart, You'll be Waiting, Just a Toy, Told You So, Have You Seen My Love, Home, and Maybe You're Right, are just the obvious ones), so maybe it is about a girl. |
