@[Sonofagunzel:40914] to me this song is about the end of a codependent relationship. One person has been carrying to brunt of the "work" a relationship entails while the other has been self-destructive, narcissistic, out of touch, or all three. The relationship is ending and the "worker" of the relationship is worried about who will take care of the other. It could be a friend, lover, relative, whatever. Codependecy takes many forms, but it\'s generally unsustainable and will break under its own weight. This song is very familiar, I\'ve been in this relationship a few times. It sounds sad because it is sad. It\'s a love song and a goodbye. |

@[Chaen:5625] I've been listening to Pearl Jam a lot lately and when this song plays in my head it seamlessly transitions into "Unknown Legend."
(I'm tone deaf and blind to rhythym so they likely don't go, but in the recesses of my mind, the songs are companions.) It would make perfect sense to me if this song is about Neil Young and inspired by his music.
