| U2 – Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of Lyrics

As someone who suffers from both depression and anxiety, this song is especially beautiful. Often it is hard for me to enjoy the present because i am either longing for the past (depression) or fearing the future (anxiety). So bono is essentially warning us to not get to busy reminiscing that we do not see the beauty in the present. |

The poem is about how at night, everybody looks back at the day, and by extension their lives, with some degree of regret. |

Well it's clearly about a broken relationship, but i've always kinda liked the idea that when he says "im going back to the start" it means he's time travelling to attempt to fix it. It's silly i know, i just have always thought that is a cool concept. |

Taking account the general theme of the album- the various aspects of life that can drive one mad- i believe breathe is specifically a study in the mundane. Essentially the only meaning in life is the meaning you give it so don't lull yourself i to a false sense of living- "And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry All your touch and all you see Is all your life will ever be". It is also warning against the mentality of "oh ill start to live after. . . or ill enjoy my life once i complete. . ." The song is essentially saying there will always be work to complete, always going to be so something stressful in life - "Run rabbit run dig that hole, forget the sun. And when at last the work is done, don't sit down, it's time to dig another one" . In short, do not make your life about the mundane aspects because life is just a culmination of our experiances. |
