I think that sugar IS NOT about drugs (god damn it!), but rather something that we turn to to forget how things are horrible around the world today.. Forget about workdays (when you think) and look forward to weekends (when you enjoy).
"we were made for fun", is obviously sarcasm, something that media, and we convince ourselves, in order to justify being lazy, not working toward a greater good, and being satisfied with mediocre lives ... |

Every song has a meaning behind it, its just that SOAD chooses not to state theirs, which makes people think! Which leads to people having their own, untampered opinions, instead of the band them preaching to us their views. |

I love your comment.
Do you think that capitalism is in the core of all of it, or is the problem in human psychology? Capitalism making only profit important, or people Escaping form freedom? (Eric Fromm) Or perhaps something else? |

I think that ads convince you that buying a shiny car will get you a girl, and that's why he's waiting, even convincing himself (thus the repetition) that he did not waist his life studying and getting a good job and lots of money, though he subconsciously knows how his life is empty. |

I agree with you completely! I just want to add that TV shows and such are also anti-depressants, as they make you forget about what's happening around you, while you emerge yourself in that other world... |
